Primary School

The quality of education provided in our classrooms plays a crucial role. It is important for students to acquire solid and lasting foundations before entering middle school. In the primary classes at AFIG, the objective is for these foundations to be mastered. To achieve this ‘international’ education, children spend the majority of their time with their Francophone teachers and the rest of the time with their Anglophone teachers. Both teachings are coordinated and balanced appropriately according to academic goals. However, learning does not stop there; the multicultural environment within the school makes AFIG a place where students build an internationally open identity through a rich and varied curriculum in a multicultural environment, preparing them to fully engage in the world of tomorrow.

One of the advantages of AFIG is its small class sizes. This allows each student to find their place more easily, enables teachers to adapt to each student, and improves their academic level based on individual needs. For the CM1/CM2 level, we have opted for a ‘multi-teacher’ teaching format to better prepare students for entry into middle school. As part of a quality education, this configuration allows for early identification and correction of differences in levels and ensures the adaptability of the student upon entering middle school.

AFIG Primary School

Experience

Multilingual and Multicultural Education

AFIG Primary School offers a unique advantage with its multilingual and multicultural education approach. Students spend a significant portion of their time with both Francophone and Anglophone teachers, fostering a bilingual proficiency that prepares them for an interconnected world. The multicultural environment at AFIG encourages students to build an open and globally-minded identity, enriching their perspectives and understanding.

Small Class Sizes for Individualized Attention

One of the distinctive advantages of AFIG is its commitment to small class sizes. This allows for a more personalized and tailored approach to education. With fewer students in each class, teachers can adapt to the individual needs of each child, creating an environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Small class sizes facilitate a close-knit community, promoting a sense of belonging and encouraging active participation.

Innovative Teaching Approaches and Early College Preparation

AFIG stands out in its commitment to innovative teaching methods. For the CM1/CM2 level, the school adopts a 'pluri-teacher' teaching format to better prepare students for the transition to middle school. This approach not only identifies and addresses differences in academic levels early on but also ensures the adaptability of students as they move into more advanced stages of their education. The focus on early college preparation sets AFIG students on a trajectory for success in their academic journey.

Transformative

Learning

Bilingual and Multicultural Immersion

AFIG Primary Education stands out for its commitment to providing a bilingual and multicultural immersion experience. Students engage with both Francophone and Anglophone teachers, creating a dynamic learning environment that enhances language skills and cultural understanding. This unique approach fosters a global mindset from an early age, preparing students to navigate an interconnected world with ease.

Innovative Teaching Methods

AFIG Primary School embraces innovative teaching methods to make learning engaging and effective. The curriculum goes beyond traditional approaches, incorporating interactive and experiential learning. From collaborative projects to hands-on activities, students are encouraged to explore, question, and apply their knowledge. This emphasis on innovation nurtures creativity and critical thinking, essential skills for success in the 21st century.

Early College Readiness and Pluri-Teacher Format

AFIG's primary education program goes beyond academic excellence; it aims to prepare students for the transition to middle school and beyond. The introduction of a 'pluri-teacher' format at the CM1/CM2 level ensures that students experience diverse teaching styles and are well-prepared for the challenges of higher grades. This early focus on college readiness equips students with the skills and adaptability needed for future academic success.
